Warfare: Covert Ops combines hidden information, role-based squads, reconnaissance and tactical timing into a compact boardgame format. Instead of perfect information, both players operate behind privacy screens, build squads with distinct battlefield roles and win by making sharper reads than their opponent.

Warfare: Covert Ops is designed to deliver a fun, realistic warfare experience that combines planning, uncertainty and luck without needing a massive rulebook. Every turn asks the same dangerous question: do you reveal your plan now, or wait one more activation?
Both players track their squads on independent boards, creating real fog of war instead of just hidden roles.
Every squad carries uncertainty. Your opponent knows pressure is coming, but not which specialist is behind it.
Scout actions, recon tools and support effects reward information warfare as much as direct attacks.
Different missions, maps and objectives push players to balance aggression, deception and timing.
Players reposition none, some or all available squads on private boards.
Alternating activations create reveals, suppression, counterattacks and bluffing.
Intel markers, bombs and support effects reset tension for the next turn.

I focus on the main design and the core ruleset
In covert ops, I mainly focus on realism and observing how the game unfolds.
I’m Dylan, and I focus on evaluating our game and developing new ideas. I also playtest the game and help identify areas for improvement.
The unit cards and veteran deck reinforce the identity of the game as more than a battlefield puzzle: it is also about loadouts, support tools and surprise tactical swings.
Clear unit identities make squad composition an important decision before the hidden battle even begins.
Special effects like smoke screens and surveillance shift the information war and create memorable moments.
